Dj “Tubby” Tubbs Jr. is one of the fastest-rising young wide receivers in the country, emerging out of national powerhouse St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California. A standout in the Class of 2028, Tubbs has quickly built a national profile as an elite playmaker known for his polished route running, burst, and game-breaking speed. Tubbs recently turned heads at the Under Armour Next Camp Series in Los Angeles, where he earned Wide Receiver MVP honors and was widely regarded as one of the best overall performers at the event. Scouts noted he was “arguably the best player of the day,” dominating one-on-one matchups with separation, precision routes, and explosive athleticism. His performance was highlighted by an elite 4.39-second 40-yard dash, reinforcing his reputation as a true vertical threat with next-level speed. Evaluators and media covering the camp consistently pointed to his combination of speed + route-running as what separated him from the field. Coming out of the spring, Tubbs’ recruitment is rapidly gaining momentum, with early offers and strong interest from numerous programs.
